Kaci Wegleitner is a professional makeup artist, model, and actress based in the Twin Cities. As a professional makeup artist, Kaci specializes in film, commercial, and special effects applications. Her makeup work has recently been featured on the 2nd season TV version of “From Dusk Till Dawn." As an actress, Kaci has appeared in TV commercials for Bud Light, as well as several high profile music videos. She is also an accomplished model, with numerous print credits to her name. Kaci's magnetic personality, enthusiasm, and professionalism make her a legitimate triple threat in the Twin Cities film & arts community and her noteworthy talents are already translating into tremendous opportunities for her.
“Lake Runs Red” is Kaci’s first lead acting role in a feature film. She plays LAUREN, a twenty-two year old extroverted, free spirit college senior with a party girl persona. Throughout the events of the film, Lauren discovers unsavory and disgusting information that changes her life forever.
Lauren Morris is an American actress born in Fort Collins, Colorado. She fell in love with the whimsy and intimacy of theatre productions at a young age. Inspired by the play Mama Mia, Lauren decided to pursue theatre acting as a career in her sophomore year of high school. She currently majors in theatre studies at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. Lauren has been actively involved in community theatre for over five years.
“Lake Runs Red” marks Lauren’s first professional acting role in the film medium. She plays MELISSA, a twenty-one year old, introverted pre-law college student who is passionate about competitive running. She begins the film as a shy, quiet girl-next-door but gradually discovers her inner strength through moments of intense crisis as the film’s events unravel.
C.J. DeVaan is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in Hopkins, Minnesota. He is a 2000 graduate of Moorhead State University. He has become a staple in community theater and independent short films within the Twin Cities arts community. C.J. has appeared in over a dozen local low budget student films and has several television commercials on his resume. He has also co-written and served as a production assistant on two independent short films for the Z-Fest Film Festival.
In “Lake Runs Red”, C.J. expertly plays BRUCE, a mysterious and mercurial stranger who crosses paths with the main characters, Lauren and Melissa, under intense circumstances.
Michael Hertenstein is an American (Canadian born) actor. He grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, but has lived in South Africa, Greece, Japan, and the Baltimore, Maryland area. He currently resides in East Central Minnesota.
A veteran theatre actor, Michael has recently begun to specialize in television, commercials, and film. He has appeared in the film “Spirits of St. Paul-The Gangster Era (2012).” He has also been featured in numerous television commercials, several music videos, and on the A&E Network’s “Secrets of Einstein’s Brain.” In his most high profile theatre roles to date, Michael has performed at the world famous GUTHRIE THEATRE in productions of “To Kill A Mockingbird” in 2016 and "Romeo + Juliet" in Fall 2017.
“Lake Runs Red”is Michael’s fourth feature film. He plays PAUL, an earnest and secretive man with an unusually close relationship with his daughter, Lauren (played by Kaci Wegleitner ) and an antagonistic dynamic with his heartless wife, Gwen (played by Helene Donohue).
Helene Donohue is an actress and singer originally from San Francisco, California. She has led a diverse career acting in musicals, commercials, television, and most notably in James Cameron’s The Abyss (1989) and Oliver Stone’s The Doors (1991).
Helene left San Francisco in 1996 and settled in St. Paul, Minnesota. A former feature film actress, Helene now specializes in dinner theatre, corporate training videos, and television commercials.
“Lake Runs Red” marks Helene’s triumphant return to feature films. Helene plays a small but powerful supporting role in GWEN, the cold and dispassionate mother of Lauren (Kaci Wegleitner) and controlling wife of Paul (Michael Hertenstein).

Troy Antoine LaFaye is a Wisconsin born actor, filmmaker, producer, editor, and film school instructor. He is currently based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
Troy Antoine LaFaye met “Lake Runs Red” director, Jason Riesgraf, when he instructed him during his film school tenure at the Minnesota School of Business. Troy mentored Jason and became close friends. Jason jumped at the opportunity to cast Troy in his directorial debut.
In “Lake Runs Red,” Troy plays a key supporting role in a pivotal action scene where he meets Melissa (Lauren Morris), one of the film’s main protagonists, under mysterious circumstances.
