UPCOMING INDEPENDENT HORROR FILM “PANIC” RETITLES ITSELF “LAKE RUNS RED” TO IMPROVE BRAND POSITIONING IN OVERCROWDED HORROR MARKET
ALSO ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL START DATE FOR PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – July 1st, 2014 - “Panic” the Minnesota based independent horror film from producers Jason Riesgraf, Mike Ascher, Jeff Fuller, J. Dan Moores, and Stephanie Riesgraf, today retitled itself to “Lake Runs Red” to improve its brand positioning, digital presence, and thematically connect to its source content more closely.
“Panic” was always a working title. Working with my newly appointed executive producer, Jeff Fuller, we examined the title more carefully. We found that to stand out in an overcrowded horror marketplace we needed a more unique title,” said Jason Riesgraf director and producer for the film.
Added Jeff Fuller, “Truly owning a movie title on today’s overcrowded Internet is such a gargantuan task, but an important one. It establishes brand presence and allows your audience to more easily connect with the film. We researched and conceptualized potential titles for over 30 hours and fell in love with “Lake Runs Red.” It embodies the genre, film story, and characters so closely.” He continued, "We're building a brand from scratch. "Panic" didn't give us a brand advantage due to its generic nature. From a brand marketing perspective, changing the title to "Lake Runs Red" is a game changer."
“The cast and crew are really digging the new title. Not that the old title was bad… but “Lake Runs Red” is so much more unique and special,” said J. Dan Moores, producer and assistant director.
Also announced today, was the official production start date. “Lake Runs Red” is set to commence principal photography in Aitkin, Minnesota on July 12th, 2014
