MINNESOTA INDIE HORROR THRILLER “LAKE RUNS RED” TO MAKE ITS WORLD PREMIERE AT THE 2016 TWIN CITIES FILM FESTIVAL, AS AN OFFICIAL SELECTION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MINNEAPOLIS, MN SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2016 The producers of “Lake Runs Red,” an independent homeinvasion horror and psychological thriller feature, today announced their official selection to the prestigious TWIN CITIES FILM FEST, one of the premiere film festivals in the Midwest for independent filmmakers and exceptional film content.
This marks the world premiere (and festival premiere) of “Lake Runs Red.” The film will be screened at 7:00pm on Wednesday October 26th, 2016 at the Twin Cities Film Fest.
The Twin Cities Film Fest runs October 19th to October 29th, 2016 and is located at the Kerasotes Showplace Icon Theatre at 1625 West End Blvd 55416 in St. Louis Park, MN.
“Lake Runs Red,” was exclusively produced, edited, and filmed on location in Minnesota, starring several noteworthy local talents from the Twin Cities theater, commercial, and film communities. Kaci Wegleitner, a legitimate triple threat in acting, modeling, and makeup artistry stars in her very first lead role in a feature. Additional Twin Cities talent featured include C.J. DeVaan, a staple in the community theater circuit and independent film scene, Helene Donohue, a former feature film actress now specializing in dinner theater and commercials, Troy Antoine LaFaye, a local actor, director, and adjunct film instructor, and Michael Hertenstein, a veteran theater actor who recently performed as an essential for the world famous Guthrie Theatre.
“This is a full circle moment for me. I remember attending the first Twin Cities Film Fest in 2010 and wistfully fantasized that one day I would have a film of my own to show at the festival. Acceptance to the Twin Cities Film Fest is the culmination of my dream and a key representation of the entire cast and crew’s hard work and talent. Film is a collaborative medium and I’m so thankful to the producers, cast, and crew for their trust and friendship throughout this amazing journey,” said Jason Riesgraf, director/producer of “Lake Runs Red.”
“Lake Runs Red” is Jason Riesgraf’s directorial debut in the feature film medium. Riesgraf has previously worked as a local television producer, assistant film editor, and camera operator. A lifelong fan of the horror film genre, he began writing “Lake Runs Red” in October 2011 as an original story loosely based on his personal experiences and relationships.
Added Stephanie Riesgraf, producer of “Lake Runs Red,” “We are absolutely blown away by the support and interest the film has received so far. The response on social media has been overwhelming. We are so thankful to the Twin Cities Film Fest for making us an official selection. On behalf of the producers, cast, and crew, we are enthusiastic, humbled and honored. We look forward to this year’s festival and can’t wait for the Twin Cities film community to see “Lake Runs Red” for the first time.”
This tremendous announcement comes on the heels of the recent release of the film’s first traditional fulllength trailer on September 8th, 2016. The fulllength trailer (https://youtu.be/IsHeeNq5gY), as well as seven previously released teaser trailers can be viewed at www.YouTube.com/LakeRunsRed.
